An Analogy - A seed Planted

A Seed planted - what will it become…

I loved an analogy that arose recently.

Seeds (ideas) were planted in the fall -  to germinate over winter.  I nurtured them without over watering them -  trusting what was meant to sprout would sprout.  Shortly before the Spring Equinox I realized some of the seeds (hopes and dreams) did not seem to germinate.  Were they still dormant?  Would they sprout later?

Then surprise blooming happened.  A couple of weeks later I noticed the fruit trees in the yard.  There were a couple of the trees that were in FULL bloom. It happened so fast!  They were in such glory!  A number of the other trees had only a few blossoms with promise of more to come.  In New Mexico, it would be reasonable for us to have more freezes to come this spring and if the tree is in its blooming stage when the frost comes, it can mean the tree will not bear fruit this year.

I tie that all together in terms of life. The seeds (thoughts and ideas) were planted, there are  projects and dreams that are blossoming,  there are ideas that are not in right timing.  Allowing, trusting, and even seeds that I thought were for one thing showed up as another. An example of this could be: I thought I was planting columbine seeds and a different flower grew.  Did I plant the wrong seed? Was the other seed already in the ground and now was its time to sprout?

Life is like that.  I trust in the right timing of things coming forward as well.  They may show up differently than I thought, hoped or expected.  Each time this happens I have choices.  I can accept what is, dig it up and throw it out, compost it and allow something new to blossom, explore possibilities and more.  Most of all, I can choose gratitude and joy with curiosity.

Thus, I ask you: What is growing in your garden of life now?  Is spring bringing sprouts and blossoms that can mature over summer and perhaps be harvested in the fall? Or sooner? Some seeds take much longer to fully mature and be productive.  Which of these seeds need nurturing?  And so the analogy goes (and grows).
